LOOKING FOR MORE VOLUNTEERS–In May the Litchfield First Responders asked for volunteers interested in joining their organization.  As of this date, three people have come forward to express interest. We would love to have at least that many more.  If we can get eight people, there will be a First Responder class here in Litchfield at Central Station starting in September.  The cost of the course will be borne by the Department.  This is a vital service to and for the community, and we are encouraged by the response to our request.  Anyone interested can drop by the station on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday evenings each month or on Saturday or Sunday mornings.  On the Tuesdays, we are at the station from 6-8 or 9 p.m. and from 8-9 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.  FMI:  Call Tina Gowell, 207-485-5565; or Darryl Ellis, 207-441-3650.

ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT–On July 31, 2015, the Litchfield Firefighters Association will be holding their annual golf tournament.  This is a scramble format with prizes for 1st and 2nd gross and net as well as many door prizes.  Also, there are prizes for closest to the hole on the par three holes and the longest drive.  We hope to have a car for a hole-in-one as well.  We had 68 golfers last year, and this year we are working very hard to get the number of players up to 100.  It is a 9 a.m. shotgun start with lunch provided by the firefighters.  The cost is $75 per player.  This covers the round of golf, riding cart, the aforementioned lunch, and the prizes.  Hole sponsorships are available for $100 per hole.  We would really like to see more Litchfield residents come out and join us for a great day of golf and help us raise funds for our department.

ANNUAL SHOW and SHINE–Just a quick reminder that the 20th Annual Litchfield Firefighters Association Show and Shine Car Show will be held at the Carrie Ricker School on Sunday, August 16, 2015, starting at 8 a.m.  Look for our flyers in our local businesses for more details.  So shine up the Old Tin Lizzy and bring her down to Carrie Ricker School on the 16th.  There are over 30 classes–so one is bound to fit your vehicle.
