Select Board Budget Workshop:

The Select Board will meet on Monday, March 4th at 7:00 am to discuss the FY25 Town Budget.

Disaster Assistance for the Dec 17-21. 2023 Winter Storm:

Federal dollars for individual disaster assistance have been approved.  Apply by the end of MARCH click here for more information.

Presidential Primary March 5th 8 AM – 8 PM:

March 5 – Presidential Primary – Maine’s first Semi-Open Primary (details can be found at Maine.gov Upcoming Elections). Litchfield polls open 8 am – 8 pm at the Sportsman’s Club, 2261 Hallowell Road.  Additional questions can be directed to the Clerk’s office at 207-268-4721.

Litchfield Ad Hoc RSU4 Withdrawal Investigation Committee — Every other Tuesday:

The RSU4 Withdrawal Investigation Committee meets Tuesday Feb, 27th at 6:30 pm at the Town Office and every other Tuesday going forward.

Transfer Station Committee, meeting Thursday Feb 22nd:

The Transfer Station Committee is new and there are 3 positions open.  Next meeting is Thursday, Feb 22nd at 5 pm at the Town Office.

Transfer Station:

The Transfer Station is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 8am – 4pm and closed on Sundays. The leaf and brush pile have closed for the season.

Transfer Station Passes Available at the Transfer Station:

All Litchfield residents/property owners are required to have a yellow Transfer Station sticker to use the transfer station. This sticker replaces the old blue one and must be attached to the lower right (passenger side) windshield. Stickers may be picked up free of charge at the Transfer Station for each of your registered vehicles (show your registration).

Restore Sea-run Alewife fish capability to Cobbossee Stream. Good, bad, neutral?

The Department of Marine Resources is desiring to restore sea-run Alewives access to Cobbossee Stream. This one page summary from the Cobbossee Watershed District provides some background on their perspective.  An alternate view is offered by non-profit Upstream Cobbossee in this short video. If you are interested in finding out more, call the Town Office (268-4721) and we’ll provide you a point of contact for either side of the issue.
