Public Hearing for Referendum Review, May 20th:

A public hearing will be held at 6:30 pm Thursday, May 20th, via Zoom to present information and take questions about referendums that are on the Town municipal ballot.  The referendums cover two topics: 1) Allowing the State to grant liquor licenses that are approved by the municipal officers, regardless of the type of establishment. 2) Two options for loans to support the local road reconstruction and repair goals of the Road Advisory Committee.

Holiday Closing:

The Town Office will be closed on Monday, May 31st, for Memorial Day.

Restore Sea-run Alewife fish capability to Cobbossee Stream. Good, bad, neutral?

The Department of Marine Resources is desiring to restore sea-run Alewives access to Cobbossee Stream. This one page summary  from the Cobbossee Watershed District provides some background. If you are interested in finding out more, call the Town Office (268-4721) and we’ll provide you a local point of contact.

New (Yellow) Transfer Station Passes Available at the Transfer Station: 

All Litchfield residents/property owners are required to have a yellow Transfer Station sticker to use the transfer station.  This sticker replaces the old blue one and must be attached to the lower right (passenger side) windshield.  Stickers may be picked up free of charge at the Transfer Station for each of your registered vehicles (show your registration).
