Vote on Tuesday (Municipal, RSU#4 Budget, Party Primaries, State Referendums):
Elections are this Tuesday, July 14th. The polls are open from 8 am to 8 pm at the Sportsmen’s Club.  You may still vote absentee at the Town Office.  Absentee ballots must be received by 8 pm Tuesday.  Information about primary and referendum voting is at this link: Ballotpaedia
Town Meeting on Saturday, July 18th at 10 am:
The Annual Town meeting will be held at the Fairgrounds in the barn beside the pulling ring. The Town Warrant may be viewed here.
Woodbury Pond Park is now open:
Effective 1 July, Woodbury Pond Park is open for the summer. Season passes are available at the Town Office or at the Park.

– Fire permits are only available online through Warden’s Report.  Not at the Fire Department.
– If you choose to use any of the town public spaces (parks, rec fields) use at your own risk, and please practice social distancing (minimum 6 feet separation) or we will be forced to close those areas.

When calling 911 for any reason, per the above graphic, First-Responders will be safer and better able to help you if you let the 911 dispatcher know if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms.

Broadband Committee Web Page: 

The ad hoc Broadband Committee has a page here on the town website and has posted a lot of new material (6/28/20).

CANCELED, will reschedule – Broadband Internet Vendor Night Mar 24th: 

A Broadband Internet Vendor Night [will be held at a futuer date]. All community members (not just Seniors) are invited to come in, ask questions, and see what broadband options are available for their household in Litchfield and the surrounding communities. Both businesses and residents are encouraged to bring in their current internet bill to help the providers understand their current level of service, if any. Representatives from Litchfield incumbent internet service providers such as Spectrum, Consolidated, and TK Networks have been invited and are expected to attend the educational session.

New (Yellow) Transfer Station Passes Required: 

All Litchfield residents/property owners are required to have a yellow Transfer Station sticker to use the transfer station.  This sticker replaces the old blue one and must be attached to the lower right (passenger side) windshield.  Stickers may be picked up free of charge at the Transfer Station for each of your registered vehicles (show your registration).

Status of town office/activities during the Coronavirus crisis:

– The Town Office is open to walk-ins, serving one customer at a time.  To see the CEO, alert the front counter and wait for the CEO to come to the side door. See the flyer here for details.
– Select Board meetings will open to the public again, beginning Monday, July 13th.  Remote attendance will still be available — online video/voice attendance via phone or computer through Zoom –If you wish to attend, please participate online or by dial-in.

– You may still re-register vehicles online, or by mail to the town office. A mail-in form is available on our vehicle registration page. (Please include a copy of your valid insurance card, the current mileage and answers to the two questions 1) Is your registration or privilege to register under suspension; 2) Are you required to file a SR-22 form?) If you wish to register a recently purchased vehicle please call us.
– Property taxes may be mailed-in, or you can use our drop box next to the front door. Please include your phone number with any submission so we may contact you if necessary.
– Transfer station passes may be obtained at the transfer station during this time.
The transfer station is open regular hours and the manager has worked hard to ensure containers are picked up so the transfer station can remain open during the crisis. Customers may now get transfer station stickers/passes at the transfer station.(6/28/20)
– The Food Bank has implemented extended hours and drive-up service during this crisis.  See this link Food Bank Temporary Changes for details.
– The Senior Center is closed.
